Chef Oliver

Chef Oliver was born in Vermont but raised in Holland where his family is from and still resides. From a very young age he began his culinary journey in the local bakery with his brother Roderick and after High School he entered college to study Hotel and Business Management. As the youngest of seven, he was always interested in following his brothers and sisters in their adventures, so in 2005 he moved to the beautiful island of St Maarten in the Caribbean to join his sister Ulrike and brother Roderick. Oliver spent the next decade working in the restaurant business until by chance he met his wife Brenna when she moved to the island…well “by chance” maybe not, it was all meant to happen! In 2015 they moved back to the states, got married, and started a family. Oliver decided to follow his true passion and was accepted into the San Diego Culinary Institute, where he graduated with top honors and was awarded the Harold Meyberg award for Excellence. Once his degree was complete, he began working in some of the finest restaurants in San Diego County. In 2020 they decided it was time to find their forever town and moved back to Texas, where his wife’s family resides. Georgetown was the perfect choice for their family and the perfect location to establish Southern Dutch Artisan Eats!
